Considering the impending subzero temperatures and the start of January term on Tuesday, I decided to take some stuff back to school in the FR-S. Naturally, I took the scenic route and skated across the slick roads to school and was met with a massive, fully plowed parking lot ready for some slow-mo dorifto action. Pitifully slow and gratuitously sideways hoonage went down and I went back home. Even if campus authorities saw me, they don't associate me with that car so I'm good. Here's a picture from the way there:

I'm surprised at the amount of Toybaru Twins I've seen around in this nasty winter we've been having so far in Toronto. Haven't yet seen one in the ditch or humping a guardrail or playing pinball with other cars.
Other RWD 2-door sport coupes are sitting in nice, warm garages right now, while this one endures in the cold with the rest of us, and must look at Carrera 4's and WRX's and go, "Wimps.".
So is it as good in winter as I'm starting to think? Not having driven one? :(

I liked it, then again, I haven't driven anything similar that hard on slick roads. The FR-S loses traction quickly on all-seasons with the traction and stability control off, but let's you know when it's doing so and is easily corrected with a tad of lift. If you keep the front end in check, it's a blast but the minute there's understeer, you're not having any more fun that corner. With regards to the ditches, I'd say that's due to lack of power more than exceedingly good winter performance. Spinning the wheels with 200 hp is much harder than with 400+.
